Notations

 Sometimes there is not a project going but my hands need to work. I make stitches and patches on strips of cloth that fit on the buckle part of overalls. I stole this idea from Shelley Rhodes.  I recommend her books. And I love her patches and bundles of fabric scraps. Random stitches. Lovely.

I am working on a project. Just got started, a photo of my grandmother and a bunch of ladies on the playground of church. I suspect it was the Altar and Rosary Society. I know they made quilts and took breaks on the teeter tot and the sandbox of the church school playground. 

Not sure what the younger girls did, maybe they were quilters in training. Since I could not get the photo to go in the purchase cart of spoonflower I decided to print it in 8.5 x 11 sections on my personal printer. I used some old unbleached muslin and some newer muslin so it really looks like patchwork. Plus I reprinted some sections and patched them over sections. It won't be a big piece but I wanted to do some handwork on it. I have some old quilt patches to dissect and add. Should be fun.
