Roaming the Yard

 So these are not all pregnant moms. They are steers, heifers, a bull and a few pregnant moms. These cows are a peaceful group unless the bull feels he has to protect his women. But these are Low Lines and are a docile breed. Black Angus which are much more "bull-headed" are bred from them. This is part of my brothers herd. On the left is a belted steer. 

When the building industry went south a few years ago he was stuck with time on his hands and a lot of acreage. He purchased a few females and a bull. He has sold off some but still has plenty of stock. Grass fed beef. 

I imagine they are looking for breakfast on a frosty morning.
