The Button Jar Car

 

Every once in awhile you hit on something awesome. The fact that it happens is very exciting. This piece was driven by happenstances. I originally thought it was finished and entered it in Quilt National but upon thinking about it I knew it wasn't there yet. I was happy it wasn't accepted at QN and immediately ordered buttons from Amazon , a pound of turquoise buttons. All hand stitched on. as I worked on it I added lace snippets, upholstery fabric and beads. The I realized the trees needed more silk ribbon embroidery. I think it is finally finished. I hung it in my living room and I have to say it makes my heart sing.

Now I have to ponder what is next. Can I top myself? Time will tell.
